SECONDARY SCHOOL LEAVERS PROGRAMMES: Electromechanics and Electrotechnics

The Electromechanics and Electrotechnics programmes are multi-skilling technical programmes for young secondary school leavers within the ages of 16 to 21 years. The programme runs for 3 years (internship inclusive) and it covers training in mechanical, electrical, electronics and industrial automation trades. As requirements to graduate from the programme, there is a mandatory period of industrial attachment in the Institute’s partner companies. Graduates of these programmes can work in several engineering industries.

The Mechatronics programme is a six (6) months intensive technical training programme aimed at equipping participants with essential knowledge and current practical engineering skills required by employers in the breweries, food and beverages, petrochemicals, oil and gas, engineering services, and manufacturing sectors. Mechatronics combines technologies like Mechanics, Electrics and software; it especially covers the inter-phases between separate technologies and their collaboration in integrated and networked production systems.

The Short Courses are technical skills training seminars/workshops with duration ranging from 3 to 5 days in industrial automation, electrical, electronics, and mechanical trades.
