Engineering Technology (EngTEC)

Programme Information

The Introduction to Engineering Technology (EngTEC) programme is aimed at providing the basic knowledge and skills needed for science inclined high-school (senior secondary) students and leavers to further their career in Engineering at the University / others. This programme focuses on demystifying technical concepts and empowering youths with the need engineering technical hands-on skills that will enable them achieve a fulfilling engineering adventure.

At the end of this programme the students will receive IIT Technical Recognition on this introductory programme and they may also receive a Nigerian government technical certificate from the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) after they have successfully passed the required examinations from IIT and NABTEB respectively.

The Introduction to Engineering Technology (EngTEC) programme is an appreciation programme aimed at developing basic knowledge and skills for engineering programmes at the tertiary institutions. Unlike the Competency Development Programmes (Electromechanics, Electrotechnics, and Mechatronics), it does not prepare candidates for the workplace.

Enrolment to the programme is continuous throughout the year.

Benefits of this Programme
