IIT 14th Graduation Ceremony
Despite the challenges of the weather and the Lagos Marathon on the 2nd of February 2019, the IIT 14th graduation ceremony was a success. A total of 73 students from the Electromechanics, Electrotechnics and Mechatronics programmes graduated. From this number, 81% are already employed in one way or the other.
The Chairman of the event Mr. Sam Obaze, who is the Chairman of the Governing Council of IIT, encouraged the graduands to keep the IIT flag flying and not bring down the standards set by those who have gone before them. He also brought to their knowledge the fact that they are now ambassadors of IIT and the future success of industry to a certain extent is in their hands.
Mrs. Udoji the mother of Peter-Paul was very happy to experience her son’s graduation. She was over joyed that her son now works at Krones. Mrs. Udoji thanked the school for the effort put into equipping the students with professional technical skills and inculcating in them moral values that helps to transform them into better persons.
The event had a joyful atmosphere filled with smiles, jubilation and gratitude of the graduands and their families.
Being a student of IIT is like a dream come true. Even though I am on a scholarship, I still find it hard to survive. But I go to school everyday filled with hope. It is part of the things you get when you are in IIT, Hope.John
