UNIV Nigeria 2026, an offshoot of UNIV International University Congress 2026 and hosted by Lagos Business School, successfully convened over 500 students and young professionals from tertiary institutions across Nigeria for a transformative gathering centred on the theme Building Bridges: The Art of Dialogue and Negotiation in Today’s World.

Held on 18 April 2026, the event provided a dynamic platform for intellectual exchange, leadership development, and meaningful conversations on contemporary social and global issues. Participants engaged in insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and presentations designed to inspire collaboration and positive change.
A key highlight of the event was a poster presentation by students of the Institute for Industrial Technology on the topic: The Role of Media in Peace Building: Opportunities and Threats the Media Pose.
Presented by Fernando Ameh and Brodrick Kelvin, the session explored how media can serve as a powerful force for education, cultural understanding, and communication across communities. It also addressed the risks of media misuse, including propaganda, false narratives, and the manipulation of public opinion.

The presenters concluded by emphasising the importance of responsible media consumption and critical thinking. They encouraged individuals to verify information before sharing it and called for stronger dialogue between government, citizens, and the media as an essential pathway to peace, trust, and national development.
UNIV Nigeria 2026 reaffirmed the value of dialogue, leadership, and responsible communication in building stronger bridges within society.
