General Programmes

The General Programmes at the Institute for Industrial Technology (IIT), Lagos, are short-term technical courses open to school leavers, graduates, and workers who want to gain practical, industry-relevant skills. Each course runs for about 12 weeks, using a 30% theory and 70% practical model to meet international training standards.

Aim

To provide hands-on technical skills that are immediately applicable in the workplace.
To create opportunities for employment, self-employment, and career progression across multiple industries.
To develop participants’ competence, confidence, and work ethics in line with global best practices.

Objectives

Deliver short, intensive training in high-demand technical fields.
Equip participants with the ability to install, repair, and maintain systems to professional standards.
Promote workplace discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Offer flexible training open to all categories of learners – school leavers, graduates, and workers.
Build a pipeline of skilled technicians who can support Nigeria’s industrial growth.
