Governing Council
The Governing Council is the supreme body of the Institute and it appoints the Principal Officers. Decisions of special importance for the long-term future of the Institute are reserved to the Governing Council. Such reserved decisions include, among others, major policies and strategies, main appointments, conditions of service, remuneration, approval of recurrent and capital budgets, and establishment of new units.
Members of the Governing Council of the Institute are appointed by the Board of Trustees of the African Development Foundation for renewable periods of three years.
