General Programmes

The General Programmes at the Institute for Industrial Technology (IIT), Lagos, are short-term technical courses open to school leavers, graduates, and workers who want to gain practical, industry-relevant skills. Each course runs for about 12 weeks, using a 30% theory and 70% practical model to meet international training standards.

Aims:

• To provide hands-on technical skills that are immediately applicable in the workplace.
• To create opportunities for employment, self-employment, and career progression across multiple industries.
• To develop participants’ competence, confidence, and work ethics in line with global best practices.

Objectives:

• Deliver short, intensive training in high-demand technical fields.
• Equip participants with the ability to install, repair, and maintain systems to professional standards.
• Promote workplace discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Offer flexible training open to all categories of learners – school leavers, graduates, and workers.
• Build a pipeline of skilled technicians who can support Nigeria’s industrial growth.
