Choosing Your IIT Programme
Choosing your iit programme
- Age and Gender: IIT programmes are classified into two categories – Mission programme and General programmes.
- Mission programmes: These programmes fulfill the mission of the school as a social project with regards to providing support to urban male youths within the ages of 16 to 23. Scholarships are only granted within these programmes e.g., school leavers programmes etc.
- General programmes: All programmes outside the mission programmes are referred to as general programmes. Due to excess capacity, IIT extends itself to non-mission areas e.g., graduate and workers programmes etc. Donors may sponsor these programmes.
- Educational Qualification: The highest educational qualification of a candidate can determine the choice of programme. Candidates with O’ levels, National Diploma and are within the age range and gender of mission programmes will be accepted into the mission programmes. Other candidates will be moved to the general programmes or will not be accepted into the school.
- Area of Interest: This will help determine the programme best suited for you. Also, note that programmes in IIT are similar but specialization is different.
- Purpose of Study: Knowing your purpose of studying in IIT gives you a sense of direction and helps your focus during your study at IIT.
