The IIT Modular Programme is an intense and flexible learning platform designed to equip you with the technical knowledge and the practical skills required to function productively within the manufacturing and engineering services sector and to help you take advantage of its rapidly growing technical needs.

 General Information

Programme Objectives

The modular programme will enable its participants:

     *  Acquire key technical knowledge.

     *  Develop;
         o Troubleshooting skills
         o Installation and Commissioning skills
         o Maintenance skills
         o Fabrication skills
         o Information Communication and Technology skills

    *   Acquire work values and personal leadership skills.

    *   Flexible self-improvement without decline on standards as to enable learning without interrupting work.


Who Can Enrol?

-- Industrial, maintenance and installation technicians

-- Engineering graduates and undergraduates seeking technical skills

-- Industrial Production and operation personnel

-- (All other fields) Those interested in technical knowledge and skills, but without science background, so as to fit into the industrial, maintenance, installation and fabrication environment

Programme structure

The Modular Programme is structured towards flexible learning.
Units are delivered on Saturdays and a full week each month (Monday to Friday).

Learning Process

Knowledge is acquired through self-study and instructions.

Skills are developed through practice and problem solving during sessions.

Participants shall be assessed before receiving awards or
recognised as competent.


Admission Requirement

Applicants must fulfill the following conditions where relevant: 
*   Must have completed or undergoing tertiary education in any discipline.
*   Those with non-science background must be working in related jobs.

Pass IIT Pre-training assessment.

Applications will be screened by an admission panel.


Other Requirements

Those offered admission from non-science backgrounds would not be offered exceptions during the course of the training.

The Modules though flexible are practical and intense. Participants from non-science back-grounds should undergo extra personal studies in science related subjects especially physics and mathematics in order to understand certain concepts.
