IIT and Opus Dei

Institute for Industrial Technology (IIT) was set up in commemoration of the centenary of the birth of Saint Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei. He was greatly concerned about helping the less privileged members of our society to improve their social conditions, such that they could obtain the needed resources to live more dignified lives. Like many similar social projects all over the world, the founders of Institute for Industrial Technology were inspired by his teachings.

The mission of Opus Dei, an institution of the Catholic Church, is to help people turn their work and daily activities into occasions for growing closer to God, for serving others, and for improving society.

IIT invited the Prelature of Opus Dei to assist in the moral formation of the students.

Like other ventures promoted by members of Opus Dei, Institute for Industrial Technology fully respects the freedom of individual consciences and is open to people of all creeds, races, and social conditions.
